2nd Candling

Peep, Peep! We saw lots of growth during our 2nd candling! We should be having chicks hatch on Wednesday the 18th of April! 

 

We had our original 3 'Yolkers' that we believe were not fertilized and 3 more 'Quitters' that look like they had started developing but then 'quit'. That means hopefully 11-12 will be hatching on Wednesday!

"Egg"citing news at JES! We placed our chicken eggs in the incubator on Wednesday March 31st. It takes 21 days for a chick to hatch!

Last Wednesday we candled the eggs to see if there is growth happening inside. We have a special flashlight the we hold the egg up to to see the growth. We have 15 eggs that are showing growth at this time ~  We call those Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner. We have 3 eggs that look like they were not fertilized ~ We call those eggs Yolkers.
